Privacy Policy
We are a handyman company, not a data company. This page explains in plain language what we collect when you contact us, why we need it, and how to get it removed.

1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to Handy Boss Services and to this website, https://handybosstx.com. It covers the information we receive when you browse the site, request an estimate, upload photos of a job, submit a review, or call, text, or email us.
It does not cover other companies' websites. If we ever link out to a supplier or a manufacturer's warranty page, what they do with your information is governed by their own policy, not this one.
2. Information you give us
Our estimate form asks for the minimum we need to quote a job and show up at the right door. Nothing on it is optional decoration — here is why each field exists.
| What we ask for | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| First and last name | To address you correctly and to attach your request to the right job record. |
| Phone number | Our primary way of confirming scope and arrival time. Most estimates need one short conversation. |
| Street address and city | To confirm the property is in our service area and to route the visit. |
| Email address (optional) | Only if you want the written estimate or invoice sent to you. Leave it blank and we will call instead. |
| Description of the work | To price the job and bring the right tools and materials on the first visit. |
| Photos you choose to upload | Optional. A photo of the problem usually replaces an in-person visit for a quote, which saves you time. |
Please do not send us payment card numbers, bank details, government ID numbers, or medical information through the form. We do not need any of it, and the form is not built to hold it.
3. Information collected automatically
We keep a simple count of which pages get used, so we know which services people are actually looking for. It runs on our own server. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tag on this site.
| What is recorded | Detail |
|---|---|
| A random visitor ID | Stored in a cookie named hb_vid. It is a random number with no name or contact details attached, and it only lets us tell a returning browser from a new one. |
| Pages viewed | The page address, its title, and the date and time. |
| Device and browser type | Whether you are on a phone, tablet, or computer, and which browser — so we can catch pages that are broken on real devices. |
| A scrambled version of your IP address | We convert it one way into an unreadable string and store only that. We do not keep your actual IP address, and the scrambled version cannot be turned back into one. |
Our web host also keeps standard server logs, as every host does, for security and troubleshooting.
4. What we never do
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers or lead-generation companies.
Your phone number and address exist in our records so we can do the work you asked for. They are not a product, and we do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites. Even our fonts are served from our own server, so loading this page does not tell anyone else that you visited.
5. How we use your information
- To answer your request and prepare an estimate.
- To schedule the visit and reach you if something changes on the day.
- To do the work, order the right materials, and invoice you for it.
- To keep a record of the job, which is what lets us honor a workmanship claim later and what our tax and accounting obligations require.
- To follow up on an open quote you have not responded to.
- To see which pages and services visitors use, so we improve the ones that matter.
6. Calls, texts, and email
When you give us a phone number, you are asking us to use it. We will call or text you about your specific request: confirming details, giving you a quote, letting you know when we are on the way, and following up after the work.
We do not run mass marketing text campaigns. If we ever start sending promotional messages, they will be a separate opt-in you have to agree to, and every message will include a way to stop them. To opt out of any message at any time, reply STOP or simply tell us — a text or a phone call to (945) 267-9379 is enough. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
7. Reviews you submit
Reviews are meant to be read, so anything you submit through our review form is published on this website: the name you enter, your city, your star rating, and your review text. Please do not include your street address, phone number, or anything else you would not want public.
If you would rather appear as a first name and initial, enter it that way — we publish exactly what you type. Changed your mind after it went live? Ask us and we will take it down; we do not require a reason.
8. Who else can see your information
Inside the company, access is limited to the owner and the people doing your job. Beyond that, your information passes through a small number of service providers that make the business run:
- Our web host, which stores the website and its database.
- Our email provider, which delivers the notification of your request to us and any estimate or invoice we send you.
- A private messaging app, which we may use to alert the owner that a new request came in so urgent jobs are not missed.
These providers handle the information only to deliver their service to us. We do not authorize them to use it for their own marketing.
We will also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it — a court order, a subpoena, a tax or licensing authority — or if we ever need it to protect someone's safety or to defend a legal claim.
9. Cookies and how to turn them off
This site sets one cookie on public pages: hb_vid, the random visitor ID
described above. It lasts about 13 months, cannot be read by other websites, and is not
readable by scripts in your browser. A separate login cookie exists for the owner's
admin area, which requires a password and is not part of the public site.
You can delete or block it in your browser settings at any time. Nothing on this site breaks if you do — you will still be able to browse every page and send us a request. Your browser's "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal is respected by default here, because we do not do the kind of tracking those signals are meant to stop.
10. How long we keep things
- Estimate requests and job records, including photos, are kept while we may still need them for a warranty claim, a repeat visit, or our tax records. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
- Requests that never became a job are deleted on request, and we clear out stale ones periodically.
- Visit statistics are kept as counts and page addresses. There is no name attached to them.
- Reviews stay published until you ask us to remove yours.
11. Your requests and choices
You can ask us to do any of the following, and we will not charge you for it or treat you differently afterward:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Send you a copy of it.
- Correct something that is wrong — a misspelled name, an old phone number.
- Delete it, unless we are required to keep a record of a completed job.
- Take your published review down.
- Stop contacting you.
Call (945) 267-9379 or email handyboss.service.llc@gmail.com. We aim to reply within a week and will complete the request within 45 days. We may need to confirm who you are first, so that nobody can request someone else's details.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, tell us and we will review it again. Texas residents may also raise the matter with the Texas Attorney General.
12. How we protect it
The whole site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. The admin area where requests are read is password protected. IP addresses are scrambled before they are stored, and we deliberately do not collect payment card details on this website at all.
No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we keep as little as possible, which is the only protection that never fails.
13. Children
Our services are sold to property owners and adult tenants. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If a child has sent us something, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version history to dig through: the page you are reading is always the current one.
Questions about your information
A real person answers. Ask us anything about what we hold, or tell us to delete it — no forms, no ticket numbers.
